The Thrill of the Chase by Forrest Fenn was a treasure hunt for a 10x10x5 inch bronze chest filled with over a million dollars worth of gold and other precious artifacts. Searchers from all over the world searched for the Forrest Fenn hidden treasure from the time of it’s release in October, 2010, until the day it was announced found by Forrest on June 6, 2020.

The incredible cache was hidden somewhere in the Rocky Mountains.  The finder of Forrest’s treasure, and the location where it was hidden, remains unknown. (Update: On 7/22/20, Forrest confirmed the treasure chest was hidden in Wyoming)

The poem gave everyone the same opportunity to enjoy The Thrill of the Chase.  It was said the poem was all you needed and that it alone held the nine clues, that when understood and followed precisely, would direct a searcher to the 1150 AD bronze chest waiting to be discovered.

When the treasure was announced found by Forrest, this Website was created for two main reasons:

  1. The community wanted to show Forrest appreciation for the Chase he had given. Instead of only moving onto other hunts, the community wanted to shift some of their focus on giving back in honor of Forrest for the opportunity he gave us all. This is done by ‘hiding treasures’ to ‘share smiles’ (via The Treasure Chest Project).
  2. This website wanted to chronicle the history and continuing story of the Thrill of the Chase by Forrest.
